Keith J. Brodie is a partner in Barnes & Thornburg’s Grand Rapids office, and the firm’s Michigan Labor and Employment Administrator. Keith represents employers in Michigan and across the country on traditional labor and employment law matters. His extensive experience includes: administering and negotiating collective bargaining agreements with all major labor unions; representing employers in labor arbitration and unfair labor practice proceedings; developing and training management on union-free strategies, assessing facility vulnerability, and responding to union organizing efforts and petitions. Keith also has significant experience analyzing and developing labor law strategies for mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, closings and other employer operational changes; and he counsels clients on employment law matters, including disability laws, the FMLA, the FLSA, employment discrimination, employee hiring, discipline and terminations, reductions in force and WARN compliance. Keith is recognized not only by Chambers, but also is a member of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers, is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, is the past Chair of the State Bar of Michigan Labor and Employment Law Council and is a contributing editor for several ABA/BNA publications including “Covenants Not to Compete,” “Employee Duty of Loyalty,” and “Trade Secrets.”
