Jason is widely regarded as one of the nation’s most experienced and accomplished white-collar defense attorneys. Drawing on his time at the Department of Justice, as well as years of defense experience, clients call on Jason for their most difficult criminal and civil fraud matters, internal investigations, and bet-the-company litigation.

Jason is a frequent speaker and author on government prosecution, healthcare fraud, FCPA compliance, and anti-money laundering topics. Jason is involved in Florida’s active Indian American community. He is a member of the South Asian Bar Association and a board member of the South Asian Bar Association, Florida Chapter.

His areas of focus include healthcare and telemedicine defense, CARES Act defense, public representation and public integrity investigations, and sports and entertainment defense. Prior to joining Bradley, Jason served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the United States Attorney’s Office in Jacksonville, Florida. He was recognized in 2017 with the Department of Justice’s Director Award, one of the highest honors bestowed upon DOJ employees.

Jason also worked as an attorney-adviser for the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C., where he led the department’s responses to various Congressional investigations and represented the department in lawsuits throughout the country.

Apart from his government service, Jason also worked in private practice in Washington, D.C., representing a variety of clients in civil litigation matters, anti-money laundering and Foreign Corrupt Practice Act (FCPA) investigations, government regulatory actions, and other proceedings.

Experience

Jason Mehta is an experienced, Chambers-ranked trial lawyer who zealously fights for his clients. He is the current chair of the Florida Bar Health Law Section, the chair of the Federal Bar Association, Tampa Chapter criminal law section, and a member of multiple advisory committees. In the past two years, Jason has (a) first-chaired a six-week federal health care criminal trial resulting in an acquittal on every count for his client, (b) first-chaired a successful month-long federal civil trial in which his client prevailed on every count involving claims in excess of US$60 million, (c) recovered more than US$20 million in suspended payment funds for a client, and (d) handled more than 60 matters across the country. He is a partner in the firm’s Government Enforcement Defense & Investigations Practice.

The Wall Street Journal has described Jason as an “attorney who has prosecuted and defended dozens of federal fraud cases.” His skills include helping clients navigate their most challenging criminal and civil fraud cases, internal investigations, and bet-the-company litigation.
