A detailed look at the Chambers Europe guide

Frida Sjostedt, Chambers Europe Deputy Editor shared a unique look and offered insights into the trends and highlights from the German legal market which was discovered during the research cycle of this year's edition of the Chambers Europe guide, in leading German publication Wirtschaftwoche's management blog.

How Covid-19 changed the Chambers Europe guide

In normal years, the Chambers Europe research process would see hundreds and hundreds of phone calls taking place from the usually buzzing office of Chambers and Partners in London, however with the restrictions put in place due to the Covid-19 pandemic this changed dramatically and the Chambers Europe 2021 guide was our first ever guide to be researched and published completely via remote working.

Highlighting the Employment law table

In the piece for Wirtschaftwoche's management blog, Frida also discusses the increased amount of employment law matters due to the Covid-19 situation, as several companies are dealing with issues such as redundancies and employees being placed on furlough. Despite an overall slowdown in the economy, Germany also saw some landmark transactions taking place in the last year including Germany's first ever green state bond issuance and its largest ever private equity transaction.

The article, in German, can be read on the Wirtschaftwoche's management blog here.
