Submissions for the Middle East
In this Legal Topics article, we offer an overview of submissions received from the Middle East for Chambers Global guide rankings.
Expanded coverage of the Middle East legal market
The Middle East is one of the most dynamic and innovative jurisdictions to practice law and continues to thrive in providing legal services to clients. We continue to grow our coverage of these fast-growing legal markets by monitoring and analysing market trends and increasing our reach and coverage of different practice areas accordingly. We have seen a significant increase in the number of submissions received from law firms in the Middle East over the last ten years as well as an exponential increase in the number of client referees provided during the course of our Middle East research.
In 2011, we received 301 submissions across all countries and in 2021, this had increased by 155% to 769. We received 347 submissions last year from the UAE alone. Other countries where we are seeing a significant increase in participation include Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Qatar. Across these countries and across the Middle East, we are seeing participation from leading law firms of all sizes, including boutique and international firms.
Below you will find a breakdown of the number of submissions received since 2011 across the Middle East.
