Change to Capital Markets, Financial Services, Pensions, Restructuring/Insolvency and Tax

At Chambers we strive to develop and evolve our coverage from year to year. The legal market doesn’t remain static and neither do our ranking tables. For the 2026 guide, we’re offering firms the opportunity to provide us with submissions for some new areas, and additional submissions in existing ones.

Capital Markets: CLOs

Firms can now submit a specific submission and referee spreadsheet, showcasing their CLO work. In the past this work has been included on a Securitisation submission so this change will also give firms more chance to demonstrate the strength of their work in that area.

Financial Services: Contentious Regulatory

For the 2025 guide, we split the Financial Services: Contentious Regulatory individual rankings and lawyers are now ranked based on which area they focus on. Following on from that, for the 2026 guide firms will be able to submit separately for their work for corporate and individuals.

Pensions

For the 2026 guide, we are combining our London and regional pensions coverage, and firms will be ranked in one UK-wide table. Firms should now provide one submission that showcases the work done by their pensions team across the whole country (excluding Scotland) .

Restructuring/Insolvency

Firms can now submit separately to a Restructuring/Insolvency: Disputes table to showcase their contentious insolvency work.

Tax

In our 2025 guide, we changed our regional Tax coverage. Instead of ranking firms in different regions, we now rank them in ‘Regions’ table covering the whole of the UK, excluding London and Scotland.
