We are thrilled to announce Beatrice Chan as the new Head of Greater China Region Research. With an extensive background covering the Asia-Pacific region over the past 10 years, Beatrice brings unparalleled expertise and a commitment to upholding our high standards of research, insight and rankings.

Expertise across Asia and China regions legal markets

I joined Chambers and Partners in 2015 as a researcher in the Asia-Pacific research team, focusing on researching the PRC Firms and China International Firms tables. Growing into the research role, I later became a Research Manager overseeing the China International coverage/market and the Korean peninsula markets” shares Beatrice. “During my days as Research Manager, I contributed to the creation of our first Greater China Region Guide. Before taking over the Head of Greater China Region Research role, my horizons were further broadened when I took the role of Acting Asia-Pacific Research Director, covering for Sarah Kogan’s period of maternity leave.

My favourite part of the job is researching the markets, as well as interviewing and connecting with law firm partners, barristers, general counsels and experts. It’s a privilege to speak to and connect with top legal talent who so often share invaluable insights into their markets. Seeing the growth and development of our guides and ranking tables and discovering new law firms has brought me a great sense of pride, not only from my work researching them, but in how I've seen Chambers’ continued growth in this exciting market.

Researching the Greater China Region’s sophisticated legal market

Beatrice and the team producing the Greater China Region guide continue to be steadfast in their commitment to delivering rankings that reflect the wealth of capability and talent in the region, and to providing reliable insights that can be depended on.

In this new role, I, along with the team, will continue to deliver insightful rankings and analysis that reflect the realities of the market while highlighting the best law firms and legal talent.

The Chambers Greater China Region 2026 and Beyond

Chambers now opens an exciting new chapter for GCR coverage and research, as we evolve to meet the growing needs of the legal market across China. Beatrice and team will be spending the coming months conducting extensive and in-depth interviews to produce rankings for our next exciting guide launch, due for release in January 2026.

The 2026 guide and those that follow will continue a track record as invaluable sources of insight all while helping firms themselves evaluate their performance and recognise growth opportunities.

Stay tuned for more updates and initiatives under the new leadership withing the GCR team. Should you have any questions or wish to offer a greeting, you can connect with Beatrice at [email protected]
