Meet the Editorial Team

Joanna Lane - Global Editor

My name is Joanna and I am the editor of Chambers Global: ROW. I joined Chambers and Partners in 2010 as a research analyst, and previously served as the Deputy Editor of Chambers Global and the editor of Chambers Canada before being appointed Global Editor in 2019. In my current role, I continue to be responsible for our Canada coverage as well as overseeing our research across Africa, the Middle East and English and Dutch-speaking Caribbean countries. My team also covers offshore Caribbean jurisdictions, including the Cayman Islands, Bermuda and the BVI.

I am originally from Canada and most recently lived in Singapore, where I worked for a nightlife magazine before moving to the UK in 2010. I have also lived in Taiwan and spent several months volunteering in Vanuatu. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Affairs and Policy Management with a specialisation in International Development from Carleton University in Ottawa as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism from the London School of Journalism. I live in Hertfordshire with my husband and three-year-old daughter.

Part of my job involves helping to grow the Chambers brand in the jurisdictions covered by the team. I engage regularly with senior and managing partners of law firms worldwide, as well as BD professionals, gathering information in order to develop the content of our guides so they reflect current market trends and realities.

Should you have any questions or would like to discuss anything with me, please do contact me at [email protected]

Robinson Redmond - Global: International Capabilities Editor

Hailing from Northern Ireland, I came to London the long way round – firstly, via Scotland, receiving an LLB from the University of Aberdeen and then South Africa, where I interned with the Legal Resources Centre, a Human Rights NGO.

I live in South London and started at Chambers almost 6 years now, initially as a writer/researcher on the UK/USA research team. I eventually became a deputy editor on the USA guide for several years before being promoted to my current role of leading the Global: International Capabilities Team.

This team is made up of highly experienced researchers and oversees the rankings for those jurisdictions that have their own specific Chambers Guides, including the International & Cross-Border Capabilities rankings that appear in 37 key jurisdictions around the world. We draw upon all the information and research gathered on a local level as well as liaise closely with all Chambers’ research teams to help inform our coverage. We also oversee all the Global-Wide and Global Market Leaders research.

I frequently interact with a wide range of regional and department heads, as well as marketing and business development managers to discuss our approach to the international market, and how law firms can best showcase their strengths and strategies when taking on multi-jurisdictional and cross-border mandates. If you have queries about our International & Cross-Border Coverage, or our Global Market Leaders and Global-wide research feel free to get in touch at [email protected]

Ollie Dimsdale - Deputy Editor

Hello, my name is Ollie. I joined Chambers several years ago and was initially a researcher on the Asia-Pacific team before becoming Global deputy editor in 2016. I have studied English Literature at the University of Warwick, where I had special research interests in Literatures of War and Post-Colonial Literature. I also hold an MLitt in Creative Writing from the University of St Andrews.

I am the deputy editor overseeing Middle East and North Africa research, with additional responsibilities for Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands and the Cayman Islands. I am instrumental in shaping the strategic direction of Chambers research for the jurisdictions under my remit and am also the first point of contact for any research or ranking queries. As such, a large part of my time is spent in conversation with law firms regarding new developments in their markets.

In addition to these responsibilities, I have a hands-on role in guiding the professional development of my three wonderful direct reports. Away from Chambers and Partners, I am a nature lover, board game enthusiast and keen reader. I also live in North London.

As the key point of contact for Middle East, North Africa and Caribbean Offshore, I welcome the chance to discuss Chambers’ evolving coverage of these markets with lawyers and business development teams. Please do get in touch if you would like to see new practice areas added for your country, or just want to open up the conversation around best-practice tips for submissions, I can be contacted at [email protected]

Joe Jackson - Deputy Editor

I grew up in Birmingham and studied History and Politics at the University of Manchester. My personal heroes are David Attenborough and Clement Attlee, when I’m not working you can usually find me reading about ancient history or watching football.

I joined Chambers & Partners as a researcher on the Global Guide in 2016 and was promoted to Deputy Editor in 2019. Since then I have overseen the Caribbean, Southern and Eastern Africa research, in addition to helping with research in other parts of Africa, the UK, USA and Canada. In addition to overseeing research conducted in the Caribbean, Southern and Eastern Africa, I routinely engage with lawyers and BD professionals to field queries, provide best practice advice, develop relationships and business.

Should you require any assistance from myself, I can be contacted at [email protected]. I look forward to connecting!
