Who is behind the Chambers USA Guide and legal rankings?

The Chambers USA team bring a wealth of skills and experience from a wide range of backgrounds to assist in our in-depth market analysis, independent research and coverage across the US legal market.

Meet each team member below and watch their videos to discover their experiences and the jurisdictions they oversee for the Chambers USA guide.

Zahra Damji - USA Research Manager

I am a Research Manager on the USA Guide, prior to which I worked as a Researcher on the USA and UK guides, and an Assistant Editor on the UK Bar Guide.

As Research Manager, I oversee the Advertising, Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation, Government Relations, Labor and Employment, Media & Entertainment and Political Law sections of the Guide, among others. As part of my role, I speak to firms about the latest trends and developments in the market and work with researchers to discover new areas to expand our coverage of the legal market.

Previously, I studied Law at the University of Birmingham, where I also served as News Editor on the student newspaper, Redbrick, and took part in Mooting and debate competitions. Outside of work, I enjoy swimming, knitting, crochet and losing at netball on a weekly basis.

I was promoted to the position of Research Manager in 2021 and I have really enjoyed learning more about the USA legal market. During my time at Chambers I have gained in-depth knowledge of a range of practice areas, including Sports Law, Investment Funds and Food & Beverages, among others.

Outside of work, I enjoy illustrating and running (as far as my fitness allows). My other passions include hiking, watching the rugby and cooking.

Outside of work I’m a keen squash player.
