Scott is a partner in Thompson Hine’s Business Restructuring practice. His client-centric approach to his practice focuses on understanding a client’s business and its underperforming areas and then developing and executing a strategic service delivery plan that addresses the issues at hand. Scott is nationally known as a leader in the assignment for the benefit of creditors’ field, has produced groundbreaking results benefitting secured creditors and assignees of assignment estates, and enabled companies to implement an efficient bankruptcy alternative. His work in distressed M&A and investing has allowed him to advise private equity firms on the best courses of action to leverage a rapidly changing economic market to deploy dry powder in a strategic manner that yields results. Scott holds a J.D. from Vanderbilt University and a B.S. from Ohio University. He is licensed in Ohio and New York and spends considerable time in New York.
