He was shortlisted as UK Family Junior of the Year 2023 by the Legal 500.

In addition to his financial remedies practice, Phillip has developed a specialism in cases involving issues of transparency and the rights of the media to report on divorce proceedings. He has been junior counsel in most of the leading authorities on the issue, from the Court of Appeal’s decision in Norman v Norman [2017] EWCA Civ 49 through to XZ v YZ [2022] EWFC 49, Gallagher v Gallagher (No. 1) (Reporting Restrictions) [2022] EWCA 49 and culminating, most recently, in Tsvetkov v Khayrova [2023] EWFC 130.

Career

Phillip was called to the Bar in October 2008. He has been ranked as a leading junior in this field since 2015.

Phillip has appeared before the full spectrum of tribunals. up to and including the Court of Appeal, both with and without a leader. He has experience drafting successful grounds of objection to the Supreme Court (Norman v Norman).
