Patrick represents suspects and witnesses in police, local authority and SFO investigations, and defendants in magistrates’ court, Crown Court, Court of Appeal and High Court proceedings, including confiscation and extradition proceedings.
Patrick’s clients include regulated professionals, such as bankers or company directors, as well as activists, politicians, journalists, and victims of miscarriages of justice, including refugees seeking to overturn false document convictions. His practice encompasses financial crime, including fraud, bribery and money laundering, protest law, and general crime, including violent and sexual offences, property licensing offences, immigration offences, public order offences and electoral offences.
Patrick specialises in representing political, environmental and social justice activists and campaigners who are arrested and/or prosecuted as a result of their activities. He has defended in the most high profile protest cases in recent years. He is also experienced in defending prosecutions brought for property licensing offences under the Housing Act 2004 and has acted in some of the first cases under emergency Coronavirus legislation.
Career
Patrick joined Bindmans as a paralegal in 2014, qualifying as a solicitor in 2018.
