Jürgen Wessing is actively engaged as coordinator and defence counsel in highly complex and extensive criminal proceedings. Most of these proceedings last several years and are specifically designed to avoid main hearings. He provides prevention and crisis advice to manufacturing companies, financial institutions and international corporations, often from the Anglo-American legal sphere. He has been in charge of the defence of executives and individuals from the management for decades.
Career
Jürgen Wessing is lecturer for criminal procedural law and law related to cartel sanctions at University of Düsseldorf, after lecturing criminal tax law for a decade. He was an active honorary judge at the Düsseldorf Bar Association's District Court and is a member of the Legal Committee of the Düsseldorf Chamber of Industry and Commerce. Last but not least, he is the author of numerous publications on criminal procedural law and substantive criminal law and can point to extensive lecturing activity on topics of commercial and fiscal criminal law.
Jürgen Wessing studied law at the universities of Bonn, Münster, Cologne and Washington. In addition to German, he speaks English and – to a limited extent – French and Spanish.
