Practice Areas
Jim is co-head of the firms fraud law practice and has a litigation practice with a strong emphasis on civil fraud and government investigations. He acts in a variety of litigation matters, including internal and special committee investigations, directors and officers' insurance issues, foreign corrupt practices investigations, complex contractual disputes, professional negligence, insurance coverage and reinsurance matters, commercial arbitration, fidelity insurance claims, shareholder disputes and corporate governance issues.He is counsel to several financial institutions and also acts for corporate and private victims of fraud. Jim conducts large-scale fraud investigations, including working with internal and external auditors, receivers, trustees in bankruptcy and special committees.
Personal
Jim is a frequent lecturer on fraud issues to various police, corporate security and other fraud investigators and international conferences. He is also editor of the White Collar Crime Section in Legal Alert – Current Legal Developments Critical to Corporate Management (Carswell).
