Mumbai-based Jigar Shah joined KKR India in May 2018 to head the legal and compliance department in a move that was widely reported in the press as this was a newly-created role. Graduated in 1992 from the University of Leicester with a law degree, he also completed an LPC from The University of Law.
He is highlighted for his experience and influence within the banking, finance and private equity spaces, regularly acting on complex transactions in this highly-regulated sector. He is continuously in touch with outside counsel to ensure they are on the right path for various transactions.” Shah’s previous experience includes a ten-year stint at Deutsche Bank in London, Hong Kong and Mumbai, followed by half a decade as Managing Director and Head of Legal at JPMorgan Chase & Co India.
