A very experienced Silk mainly engaged on behalf of the Defence in serious criminal cases.

In recent years he has undertaken many murder cases as well as trials involving allegations of fraud (including election fraud), people smuggling, serious sexual offences, drugs conspiracies and manslaughter by gross negligence.

He is a former Secretary of the Criminal Bar Association of England and Wales, a member of the General Council of The Bar, as well as Head of the Heads of Chambers Committee for England and Wales.

R v F (2019 Wolverhampton Crown Court). Man charged with murder for strangling his partner and then stabbing her twenty times in heart and neck.

R v U (2019 Central Criminal Court). Gang murder in Brixton.

R v W (2019 Caernarfon Crown Court). Gross negligence manslaughter involving a head gamekeeper.

R v A (2019 St Albans Crown Court). Murder of a drugs dealer.

R v O (2018 Liverpool Crown Court). Murder (after torture) of a man who owed money to a drug smuggling gang.

R v M (2018 Manchester Crown Court). Murder involving two Manchester gangs.

R v R (2018 Central Criminal Court). Murder of fiancée.

R v B (2018) Manchester Crown Court. Murder on Manchester street.
