Amir is an experienced international arbitration partner. He has acted as counsel in more than 75 international commercial and construction arbitrations administered under the rules of all the major arbitral institutions, as well as in ad hoc proceedings. He has represented clients across a number of sectors, with particular experience in energy and natural resources, and construction and engineering. His experience includes work in telecoms, investment banking, aviation and aerospace and defence in disputes arising out of merger & acquisition, joint venture, shareholder, financial services and technology licensing activities. Amir has also represented governments, international corporations and private clients in cross-border (including boundary) disputes, criminal investigations and complex litigation. Amir routinely conducts his own advocacy at both procedural and merits hearings. He also sits as an arbitrator (including as sole arbitrator), and is currently sitting on several international tribunals. Amir is an English solicitor-advocate and an Advocate of the Courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre. In 2002, Amir served as a judicial assistant to The Rt. Hon The Lord Woolf, then the Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales.
