FOSTERS was founded in 1988, initially under the name Peter I. Foster & Associates by our Founder, Peter I. Foster, KC and is one of the longest serving and largest law firms in the Eastern Caribbean. The Firm rebranded to FOSTERS in 2018, to reflect the maturity and solidarity of its legal management team. Our Partners are highly regarded, and have served on several Government Advisory bodies, Boards of statutory agencies, and public and private companies. Our Head of Firm, Peter I. Foster, KC is among few actively practicing King’s Counsel in the sub-region, our Managing Partner, Claire Greene-Malaykhan is known for her diligence and expertise in real estate, conveyancing and notarial services and our Partner, Renee T. St. Rose is a known powerhouse, organized and diligent, ensuring delivery and satisfaction to our clients of the highest levels. The Firm presently consists of 3 Partners and 6 Associates.

Recent work highlights:

• advising a syndicate of lenders in relation to a US$80 million loan to a hotel developer
• advising a leading US institution in lending of US$100 million for a property development in Saint Lucia
• advising a developer in the acquisition of a hotel property and borrowing of US$95 million
• advising a lead bank on bond issuance of US$40 million
• advising a lead bank on loan of US$60 million to finance construction under a BOLT Agreement
• successfully represented statutory body in Concession Agreement for the development and operation of the Seaports
• successfully represented property developer in planning appeal for multimillion dollar property at Soufriere, Saint Lucia
• successfully represented customers in obtaining freezing order against Offshore Bank in Saint Lucia for millions of EUR
• successfully represented clients in appeal of injunction order on the grounds of material non-disclosure and adequacy of damages
