FOSTERS was founded in 1988, initially under the name Peter I. Foster & Associates by Peter I. Foster, QC and is one of the longest serving and largest law firms in the Eastern Caribbean. The firm recently branded to FOSTERS, to reflect the maturity and solidarity of its legal management team. The partners are highly regarded, and have served on many government advisory bodies, Boards of statutory agencies, and public and private companies.

■Preparation and advice on loan finance documents and hypothecary obligation and mortgage debenture on transaction for US$10m

Dispute Resolution & Litigation:
■Represented major international bank before the Eastern Caribbean Court of Appeal on the ranking of creditors in a liquidation under Saint Lucia law and the ranking of hypothecary obligations, judicial hypothecs and unsecured charges
■Representation of United Kingdom Statutory Body in major liquidation in Saint Lucia ■■Representation of major secured creditor in complex liquidation involving intermingling corporate entities and associated companies
■Successfully represented client at the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council on breach of contract and breach of trust claim in relation to property in Saint Lucia
■Successfully represented Statutory Body in ceasing destruction of historical and architectural building in Saint Lucia
■Represented major hotel in Saint Lucia in relation to physical planning and development dispute
■Represented major international oil and gas company on tax dispute in Saint Vincent and Grenadines and Saint Lucia.
