As one of the leading and largest chambers in Wales, 30 Park Place is able to fulfil the needs of large-scale to more boutique legal businesses across England and Wales.

Main Areas of Practice:

Family:

All members of the Family team are members of the FLBA. Family and Care team members represent Local Authorities, parents, CAFCASS Cymru and other parties including prospective adopters and interveners. Chambers provides a comprehensive service to solicitors, regularly advising on and presenting or contesting applications for injunctive relief, section 8 Children Act orders, Care and Supervision orders, Placement and Adoption orders, orders for the return of children under the Hague Convention and other applications under the Inherent Jurisdiction of the High Court.

The Family team also comprises, throughout the team, specialists in matrimonial finance. Whether the application is for Financial Order upon divorce, under Schedule 1 to the Children Act 1989, under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents Act) 1975 or a cohabitee claim under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 any one of the set's experienced practitioners can provide reliable advice or persuasive advocacy. The team can provide assistance in out of court resolution by way of Collaborative Law, Arbitration or Mediation (either as representative or as consultant, arbitrator or mediator respectively). A number of senior members are also available to conduct private FDR (Financial Dispute Resolution) type appointments either in chambers or at a location chosen by the clients.

Crime:

Members of the team regularly appear in some of the most high profile and complex cases across Wales. The experience and quality of the criminal law practitioners at 30 Park Place has been consistently recognised by Chambers and Partners and the Legal 500 directories. All serious and complicated areas of work such as homicide, serious fraud, confiscation proceedings, serious sexual offences and large-scale drug conspiracies are handled.

In addition to providing a comprehensive service across the Magistrates’ Courts and Crown Courts the team also possess significant appellate experience with members of the team conducting cases all the way through to the Supreme Court. Whilst the focus of the team is on the Welsh Circuit members often appear in cases across the United Kingdom in order to meet the expectations and requirements of its professional clients.

The set is committed to the development of team members and the legal profession as a whole and provide training and lectures on all aspects of criminal law. The strength and expertise of the Crime team is demonstrated by the fact that since 1990 twelve members have been awarded Silk and numerous former members have received judicial appointments.

The team and the clerks aim to provide a dedicated, efficient and professional service regardless of the size or nature of the case. It strives to provide consistency of representation wherever possible.

Civil:

The set has a long history of being involved in the most important cases in Wales and further afield. The senior members are sought after both individually and often as a team, to advise in claims of the utmost severity. In the middle and junior ranks, the set offers significant strength in depth.
