Bassem Pierre Daher, Partner - Galadari Advocates & Legal Consultants
Bassem has over 15 years of cross-border experience across the UAE, Luxembourg, the United States and Lebanon. He focuses his practice on corporate, investment, tax and fund structuring with a portfolio of clients including Fortune 500 corporations, major fund managers, top 10 Real Estate, Private Equity & Venture Capital groups, Family Offices & UHNWI, Banks & Financial Institutions and Oil & Gas multinationals. Bassem has structured multi-billion-dollar deals and assisted numerous companies in developing their investments and commercial activities and expand locally and globally. He excels at overcoming the complexity of global financial deals and he is praised by clients for his straight-forward business-focused and strategic approach. Prior to joining Galadari, Bassem held the position of President & CEO (North America) of one of the largest independent investor services groups globally with over 23 jurisdictions and offices worldwide, before which he headed its Middle East and Africa region.
Gerry Rogers, Senior Associate - Galadari Advocates & Legal Consultants
Gerry’s practice focuses on corporate & commercial matters and projects.  He has broad experience with the Galadari Corporate team in acting for international companies entering the UAE and the broader region, whether by way of acquisition, by joint venture or by incorporating an entity/through a local distributor. He also has extensive experience advising on high profile projects and transactions in the energy and infrastructure sectors, including advising on corporate structuring, joint venture and project agreements and finance documents, as well as on the technical aspects. He is familiar with acting on multi-jurisdictional matters and recently advised a large listed mid-west US industrial on its US DoJ-mandated divestment of assets based in the UAE and broader region, which required corporate restructuring in the UAE and amendments to distributor arrangements. Prior to pursuing a career in law, Gerry worked as a chemical engineer with a British multinational consultancy, engineering and project management company, where he worked on large scale energy projects.
Joanna Lane, Editor – Canada, Africa, Caribbean, the Middle East and Offshore - Chambers and Partners
Joanna joined Chambers in 2010 as a researcher on the Global team, before being promoted to Deputy Editor. She took on the role of Editor of the Canada guide in its inaugural year in 2014, and was appointed editor of Chambers Global (ROW) in 2019. Prior to moving to London she worked at a nightlife magazine in Singapore, and taught English in Taiwan. Joanna grew up in Canada, and graduated from Carleton University in Ottawa with a degree in International Development. She also completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Journalism at the London School of Journalism.
