The employment - pensions - public sector department's key type of work is consultancy, however contentious cases are handled as well, both before the labour courts and the administrative courts.
Over calendar years 2023-2024 Younity was handling various cases upon instruction of the Belgian Federal Chamber of Representatives relating to (the clawback of) pension allowances and departure indemnities granted to Members of Parliament. Younity also was involved in a landmark case representing Uber Drive in litigation with one of its drivers who claimed to be an employee rather than self-employed, a ruling that could have massive impact on Uber's business model.
Aside from consultancy and litigation Younity is strongly active in M&A support work, whereby it is acting as subcontractor for various firms in local and transnational transactions. Its team has particularly developed a strong expertise in employment & pensions due diligence.
