The Environmental Department was formally established in 2015 and has been deeply engaged in fields related to environmental laws. After years of expansion and study in depth, the professional fields of the department’s service has included environment, energy, resources, environmental investment and financing as well as the derived fields such as safety in production, fire protection, legal service for governments and administrative litigation etc.

So far, the Environmental Department has five senior lawyers who’ve grown with the department. The team have two senior advisors. They are Prof. Jinzhong Shen who is an expert in environmental law and Prof. Erbao Yan who is an expert in administrative law.

With the idea of "developing professionalism", the Environmental Department has served many regulatory authorities with its professional theoretical knowledge and expertise. It has solved legal puzzles in the supervision and enforcement in ES and assisted regulatory authorities in the review of case files for ES administrative enforcement. The Environmental Department is also engaged in improving ES compliance management for corporate clients, providing consulting services in ES compliance, investigating and responding to ES emergencies, acting as an agent for administrative review and administrative litigation.

In 2023, the Environmental Department will launch special legal service in the fields of "double carbon" and ESG.
