Our Tax Law Department is well regarded by its advisory services related to (i) tax aspects regarding daily corporate matters, especially issues regarding the international financial reporting standards (“IFRS”); (ii) tax aspects regarding corporate reorganizations; (iii) review of tax planning structures in order to identify possible conflicts with authorities view of the matter; (iv) tax aspects regarding the Brazilian electric power sector; (v) taxation of infrastructure projects, particularly in the context of government procurements and privatisation of public sector companies; (vi) Brazilian Tax Law concerning transfer pricing and thin capitalization rules.

There has been a recent development that is closely connected with the activities described on item (i) above. In December 2021, our Tax Law Department released a website to publish our workshops, podcasts, text and academic articles, regarding tax issues that are related to the accounting regulation (“Portal Tributação e Contabilidade”). All the content is free of charge, which is in pace with our philosophy of disseminating high level knowledge with our clients and peers.

In a more recent period, always seeking to improve and share our knowledge, the tax team developed two new projects. The first of them is a podcast called "PodCARF" that aims to interview important names of the Brazilian Federal Administrative Court (Conselho Administrativo de Recursos Fiscais - CARF).
