Tauil & Chequer’s ESG group, led by Luiz Gustavo Bezerra, relies on lawyers with an extensive track record advising clients in connection with ESG issues in Brazil, particularly climate change, energy transition, decarbonization, value chains, sustainable finance, green bonds, compliance and risk assessment related to climate and stakeholder litigation, as well as development of new sustainable businesses.

In 2021 alone, the group assisted more than a dozen clients–including their boards of directors – in connection with the development of net zero strategies and structuring of carbon credits projects, as well as several other clients – companies and financial institutions–in connection with green financing.

Although ESG has only recently been gaining traction in the mainstream media - reflected by the fact this Chambers' first ESG ranking - Tauil & Chequer's ESG group exist since 2019 and already has a robust track record working with ESG matters.
