Simpson Grierson is home to one of New Zealand's leading construction and major projects teams. We advise clients across the full project lifecycle, from procurement and contracting through to delivery and disputes, and on many of New Zealand's most significant infrastructure projects.
The practice advises public sector stakeholders, local authorities, principals, sponsors, consultants, contractors and subcontractors on procurement strategy, contracting models, project delivery and disputes. Areas of expertise include major infrastructure procurement, collaborative delivery models, tunnelling projects, utilities infrastructure, renewable energy developments and public-private partnerships.
The team acts across transport, water and wastewater, renewable energy, local government infrastructure, commercial buildings, social infrastructure and large-scale urban development projects. Clients include Watercare, Auckland Transport, Christchurch City Council, Auckland Council, Acciona Construction New Zealand, Fletcher Construction, CPB Contractors and Queenstown Lakes District Council.
Significant projects include Watercare's Central Interceptor, Auckland Transport's Level Crossings Removal Programme, Christchurch City Council's Te Kaha Multi-Use Arena, Tauhei Solar Farm, and public-private partnership projects including the Northland Corridor PPP and Southern Renewal Partners PPP consortium bid.
