Shook, Hardy & Bacon's role as coordinating discovery counsel assures that complex discovery matters are handled consistently, defensibly and in a manner that makes the best economic and operational sense for businesses. As coordinating discovery counsel, Shook attorneys respond to inquiries from opposing counsel concerning discovery practices and status; participate in Rule 16 and Rule 26 conferences, meet-and-confers and hearings; identify and prepare company and expert witnesses; and prepare or comment on briefings.
In certain cases, Shook attorneys may also act in more of a consultant capacity for case teams—preparing the case teams to attend conferences, hearings and meet-and-confers and responding to inquiries concerning discovery practices. The Shook team's experience spanning the full spectrum of the eDiscovery process allows the firm to develop relevant, customized plans for clients.
