SCL Nishimura & Asahi has a strong and experienced Employment and Labour practice group in Thailand.

Our team was trained by, and worked under, a former senior partner who had served as labour court judge; thus, we have particularly in-depth expertise in the practical side of the legislative system. Our strategy is to provide detailed, accurate advice and flexible solutions, adapted to meet our clients’ needs.

We regularly engage in both advisory work and litigation, as well as drafting and reviewing legal documents, negotiating settlements, interviewing employees (particularly those accused of wrongdoing), managing whistleblowing hotlines and processes, providing general employment law advice, and representing clients in numerous court cases and in hearings before the labour authorities. We excel at simplifying complex matters and equipping our clients to make the right decisions. We receive consistently strong feedback from clients regarding the quality of our work.

We keep up to-date with legal developments and new laws, and update clients accordingly, to ensure their businesses remain in compliance with Thai Employment law. For example, we now provide advice to clients concerning compliance with Thailand’s Personal Data Protection Act BE 2562 (2019) (expected to enter into force on 1 June 2022), a very new law which is not widely understood.
