Mohsin Tayebaly & Co. has an increasing presence in the Projects and Energy Sector. The firm regularly represents both banks and companies in respect of project financing transactions. Our team is headed by Mr. Irfan Tayebaly who has 40 years of experience within which time he has undertaken a number of project financing, power and infrastructure related projects. He works closely with Ms. Mehreen Manto, Mr. Salman Rahim and Mr. Vaseeq Khalid who have over 18, 17 and 15 years of experience, respectively.
The team drafts, negotiates and reviews all project-related and financing documents and advises on the laws governing private power projects in Pakistan, at every stage. Significant transactions have been undertaken by the firm over the past year such as, being appointed as Pakistani legal counsel for China Development Bank as the lead arranger for the development of a 330 MW mine-mouth coal fired thermal power project in Thar Block II, Province of Sindh, Pakistan.
Our Firm also acted as the legal counsel of some of the leading banks of Pakistan such as Habib Bank Limited pertaining to provision of a project finance facility in the aggregate amount of PKR 12,485,000,000/- (Pak Rupees Twelve Billion Four Hundred Eighty Five Million) to Punjab Ring Road Infrastructure Management & Engineering (Private) Limited for the purposes of the construction of Lahore Ring Road – Southern Loop (Lahore), a 22.4 KM Long, 6-lanes dual carriageway.
