Overview
Our Finance & Projects Group’s primary goal is to provide our clients with legal advice on the banking and finance sector in the MENA region as well as on the strengths and weaknesses of security available to lenders in the MENA region market.
Headed by Mahmoud S. Bassiouny – Regional Managing Partner and group head of Finance and Projects – the Finance & Projects Group maintains close relationships with Egyptian financial institutions, which enable them to have first-hand knowledge of what constitutes commercially acceptable solutions for the major institutions involved in large-scale deals.
The team currently advises on projects across major industry sectors in Egypt and in the MENA region, including:
- Energy – oil & gas, power (including renewable), gas pipelines, and transmission and distribution assets.
- Financing – project financing, conventional and Islamic.
- Property development – commercial, residential, industrial and large-scale mixed-used developments. Resources – mining and process plant infrastructure.
- Transport infrastructure – roads, rails, airports and ports.
- Utilities infrastructure – water, wastewater, sewage, gas, and electricity.
