We are a truly international banking and finance practice serving borrowers, lenders, advisers and other market participants on all forms of financings. We have strong capability across the firm's offices in Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, offering top-tier technical excellence that is underpinned by commercial acumen.

Our experience in Africa includes advising on a significant number of finance transactions, covering all types of debt finance – project finance, asset finance, reserve-based oil and gas lending, structured finance, development finance and corporate lending, as well as the capital markets. We can advise on complex financial structuring and have a thorough knowledge of local security and exchange control issues in African jurisdictions.

Our lawyers have acted for borrowers, lenders, export credit agencies, multilateral organisations and governments in Africa, which has given us a uniquely advantageous perspective on the full range of financing options in this exciting market. We have advised on matters in all of Africa's 54 jurisdictions and across all key industry sectors.

Work highlights include advising Vitol SA on the financing of its interest in the US$7 billion OCTP oil and gas project in Ghana; Stanbic Bank and other lenders on the project financing of the Kinangop Wind Farm Project in Kenya; and African Development Bank on local currency bond issuance programmes in a number of African jurisdictions, including Nigeria.
