About

Provided by Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin & Schiller

Our dedicated antitrust lawyers have considerable experience in complex commercial litigation. They are routinely involved in the development of complex factual and legal issues involving antitrust, intellectual property, and regulatory law. Our attorneys have decades of experience in federal trial and appellate courts and have been involved in some of the leading antitrust cases in recent years. We regularly represent retail pharmacies in cases challenging anticompetitive practices by brand and generic pharmaceutical companies to keep the price of pharmaceutical drugs high. Our cases involve complex issues at the intersection of antitrust, intellectual property, and pharmaceutical regulatory law. They are often multijurisdictional cases that can go on for years.

For more than two decades, we have represented some of the country’s largest retail drugstore chains in ground-breaking cases concerning the availability of competitively priced pharmaceutical products. On behalf of our clients, we have vigorously opposed various means by which brand drug manufacturers have delayed generic competition, including the use of reverse payment patent settlements, sham litigation, sham FDA Citizen Petitions, wrongful patent listings in the FDA’s Orange Book, and predatory product hopping.
