About

Provided by Greenberg Traurig, LLP

Greenberg Traurig's REIT Group unites the transactional and regulatory experience from our nationally-recognized Corporate & Securities, Real Estate, and Tax practices to provide clients with a multidisciplinary legal team. Our REIT experience encompasses virtually all property sectors, including office, multifamily complexes, health care facilities, shopping centers, hotels, industrial warehouses and distribution centers, student housing, and leisure properties. We have significant experience in representing public (both traded and nontraded) and private REITs in all phases of their corporate existence – from capital raising to mergers and acquisitions – and counsel startup REITs as well as multi-billion dollar REITs. Our clients include equity, mortgage, and hybrid REITs, many of which are structured as “UPREITs.” In addition, we have experience representing infinite life, finite life, and incubator REITs, and self-administered and externally-managed REITs. We regularly advise on corporate governance, contracts, and corporate and securities matters, including those related to compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and other regulatory regimes. Further, we advise special committees of REITs in connection with considering various alternatives, mergers, other liquidity events, extraordinary transactions, and conflict situations.
