Good Law Practice acts in judicial reviews and other types of public law litigation, as well as providing non-contentious advice in relation to the powers and functions of government and other public bodies.  Our areas of practice are broad, including, ensuring good governance, protecting the environment, and upholding the rights of women, and the right to protest.. 

 

Our main client is Good Law Project, but since launching last year we have also acted for charities, Members of Parliament, companies, and other individuals.  

 

Work highlights include: 

 

- Acting for Good Law Project in a number of challenges relating to potential breaches of the Public Contracts Regulations by the government during the pandemic. 

 

- Acting for three MPs in a challenge to the Charity Commission's maintenance of the Global Warming Policy Foundation on the register of charities. 

 

- Acting for Good Law Project and Lord Brian Paddick in a judicial review in respect of the Metropolitan Police Service's refusal to investigate the Downing Street "partygate" scandal. 

 

- Acting for the Marine Conservation Society and others in a challenge to the government’s Storm Overflows Discharge Reduction Plan.
