NORTH EAST: AGRICULTURE AND RURAL AFFAIRS
Gibson & Co. has been acting for agricultural clients since 1715. The well respected
department acts for farmers, landowners and landed estates and deals with the
diverse range of issues associated with rural property. We are able to assist clients with issues
including succession planning, leases and tenancy agreements, sales/purchases,
options, partnership agreements and renewable/alternative energy.
Our team includes fellows of the Agricultural Law Association and members of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. The partners in
the department have a deep understanding of and empathy with their clients in the rural sector and well understand the issues they face. They have acted for a number of families for generations.
Leading individual Harry Chrisp acts for private individuals and estates on sales, purchases and leases of farms and large agricultural land. He is supported by the very able Suzanne Forster and James O'Connor, who recently joined the firm from a busy London real estate practice.
Strengths (according to Chambers researchers) include:
"Harry is always attentive to my clients' needs; he can articulate complicated matters in a clear and concise way and understands when clients may not wish to pursue a particular course of action."
"He is very good; he is very straightforward and is able to adapt to all curveballs."
"Harry is efficient and knowledgeable."
