The Insurance Team has a very solid and up-to-dated knowledge of the Portuguese legislation and regulation and stands ready to advise on all legal and regulatory aspects of the insurance industry. It provides legal assistance on a day-to-day basis to several Portuguese and foreign insurance undertakings and insurance intermediaries (including banks and specialized financial/credit institutions).

The Insurance Team is mostly composed of senior associates, which enables them to provide specialized and tailored recommendations to their clients. They see theirselves as business partners of their clients.

A distinguishing characteristic of this Team is the ability to create innovative solutions. They are not afraid to recommend out-of-box solutions and have often been pionners in some areas, namely, in life insurance.

Insurance Team frequently work with the Tax Department to ensure that all insurance operations are also analysed from a tax perspective, providing clients with the most efficient solution.

They benefit from a large experience in terms of unit-linked insurances under Portuguese and Luxemboug law, being often invited to speak about these complex financial poducts. Currently they provide legal assistance to circa 10 Luxembourg insurance companies.

Their Team are also very skilled in non-life insurance, providing assistance in what concerns several non-life business lines, namely, civil liability, motor vehicle, damages, assistance, health and personal accidents.
