DeHeng' s M&A practice group is a leader in complex cross-border M&A transactions, representing both Chinese investors going abroad and foreign investors acquiring Chinese companies and establishing greenfield investments. 

DeHeng was among the earliest law firms advising Chinese enterprises in large-scale outbound M&A. In 2010, DeHeng advised a Chinese investment consortium on the acquisition of the steering division of General Motors. It was at the time one of the largest outbound M&A transactions to emerge from China and is now an exemplary model of success for Chinese M&A in the US.

For inbound investment, DeHeng is also on the cutting edge. DeHeng is at the forefront of advising on agriculture investment as policy related to genetically modified crops (e.g. soybeans) becomes a major theme of 2022.
