Our International Trade and Customs Department serves national and international clients trading in every sector, including agriculture and livestock, food and beverages, mineral and hydrocarbon products, construction and materials, automotive, telecommunications, transport, chemicals, pharmaceutical products, retail, and professional services just to name a few.
Covering the entire spectrum of the import, transit and export of goods, our team advises on international distribution agreements, international sale of goods, import licenses, technical requirements (technical barriers to trade), sanitary requirements, rules of origin and labeling, and currency exchange regulations.
We also advise on customs matters and represent clients in all proceedings before the customs authorities, the National Tax Court, the Federal Administrative Courts and the Supreme Court of Justice, such as challenges to tax liquidations/assessments, recovery of unduly paid duties or dues, customs violations and tax executions. We have been successful in significant lawsuits and administrative claims related to industrial promotion and special import/export regimes for clients in a number of industries.
Our expertise includes valuation of goods and transfer prices, evaluation of inter-company transactions and advice on the analysis and implementation of complex international customs tax structures.
