About

Provided by Beccar Varela

We serve clients in all stages of the electricity chain, including generation, transmission, distribution and large consumers. We work with national and international clients active in the thermal, hydro, wind, solar, biogas and geothermal sectors, among others.

We have experience in major government privatizations, international bids and concession contract renegotiations, and assist both developers and owners on the drafting and negotiation of EPC agreements, including risk assessment and structuring. We advise on public bid processes and financing mechanisms, with various clients winning tenders. As an active member of the Argentine Renewable Chamber (“CADER”), we participated in the drafting of the amendment to the Argentine Renewable Energy regime, Law 27,191.

Drawing on our comprehensive full-service capabilities, our experience with power clients also includes regulatory issues related to: infrastructure expansion and creation of easements; governmental authorizations; insurance; labor and employment, including union negotiations; pricing issues; Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs); project finance promotion regimes in renewable energy and project development; public-private partnerships (PPPs) and real estate, including land use, zoning and permitting.
