Our REITs Group has extensive experience in representing and advising public and private Maryland REITs as they navigate through often complex corporate, securities, tax, real estate, and bankruptcy law issues. Our multidisciplinary practice combines broad technical knowledge with in-depth practical experience, and includes real estate, business and finance, and tax attorneys.

• We have represented REIT clients on matters of Maryland corporation law in hundreds of equity and debt offerings and financing transactions, and dozens of merger and acquisition transactions. ​
• Maryland is the jurisdiction of choice for the organization of REITs, and our attorneys have been focused on this industry since the beginning.
• We work directly with our REIT clients, but also work as corporate counsel while other firms serve as securities and tax counsel for our mutual REIT clients. We approach these engagements like we have two clients: the REIT and the firm serving as securities and tax law counsel. Our contributions, as Maryland corporation law counsel or with respect to other aspects of a transaction, are often critical to the success of a transaction.
