Baker McKenzie is best known for Dispute Resolution and International Arbitration in Africa from a dual perspective: Our unmatched global platform, with many lawyers from across our network expert in advising clients on investments in Africa, and our rapid growth on the ground in our local African offices.

Baker McKenzie was one of the first international law firms to open an office in Africa over 30 years ago. In addition to over 100 lawyers on the ground in Africa - based in Johannesburg, Cairo and Casablanca - our clients are supported by Africa specialists from across our global network of 74 offices. We have developed a solid network of African Relationship Firms (ARFs) across the continent, so we are able to meet client needs even in countries where we don’t have an office.

The Dispute Resolution practice is also well known for its ability to draw on experts in various continents who are best-placed to advise on the legal complexities of Dispute Resolution, a practice area which is becoming ever more cross-border in nature.
