BKL’s finance practice group represents commercial banks, insurance companies, investment banks, private equity funds, leveraged buyout sponsors and borrowers in a wide range of financing transactions. These transactions include secured and unsecured syndicated loans, leveraged finance, acquisition finance, project finance, aircraft and ship finance, and derivatives. 

In connection with many of the M&A transactions in which our firm has played a role, our finance team has concurrently advised the purchaser in the financing of the transaction. In these transactions, high leverage is a key element especially where we are advising private equity funds.

We also represent developers, underwriters and commercial banks in a wide variety of project financing transactions. On many occasions, the practice group has represented banks in their financing of power plants and other projects in the energy sector.

BKL’s finance team is regularly retained by lenders and borrowers to handle financing of aircraft, vessels and equipment. 

In the course of the group’s extensive cross-border work over the past decades, they have collaborated with law firms in the U.S., Europe, Japan, Australia and other countries.
