Recently, Axis Law successfully represented the National Transmission and Despatch Company (NTDC) in an ICC arbitration against an Iranian corporation securing an Award of approximately US$ 4.5 million in favour of NTDC in the arbitration. The firm is also widely acknowledged for the quality of its representation in disputes involving constitutional challenges as well as complex commercial disputes before the superior courts of Pakistan. The firm’s partners inter alia successfully defended before a three-judge panel of the Lahore High Court the constitutionality of Pakistan’s anti-trust legislation on behalf of the Competition Commission of Pakistan.
It is also known respected for its high impact human rights litigation including a recent public interest litigation filed before the High Court to challenge the practice of state functionaries of conducting virginity tests and intrusive examinations of victims / complainants of sexual assault.
