• Appleby Guernsey’s Corporate and Finance group continues to develop and consolidate its market position as one of the strongest offerings in Guernsey, particularly for banking transactions.
• The practice handles a wide range of transactional debt work and regulatory advice to international lenders and major UK financial institutions, with a particular expertise in subscription finance.
• Just over half of the team’s work in Guernsey involves funds finance, advising both lenders and borrowers in loans to funds, their GPs and connected entities.
• The Appleby team has established a reputation as the go-to firm for reorganisations of large UK financial institutions, which are also typically conducted by means of a scheme of arrangement.
• This year has seen a particularly busy period dealing with the Guernsey regulatory aspects of a number of acquisitions and disposals in the finance industry.
• The department is also currently heavily engaged in start-ups and fund raising for new technology companies and the mining industry.
