Zaki Hashem & Partners (ZH&P), Attorneys at Law, acted as the Legal Advisor to the Middle East Oil Refinery (MIDOR) in financing the Project aimed at modernizing, upgrading and expanding MIDOR’s refinery located in the Alexandria Free Zone.
Since 2015, ZH&P has been advising MIDOR on all legal aspects related to the Project’s financing, legal structures, and sovereign guarantee. In the course of the legal support extended by ZH&P and as related to project financing, MIDOR had finalized a series of agreements with an Italian contractor supported by an Italian export credit agency.
On 21/02/2019, the Project reached financial closure satisfying all lenders’ requirements and documentation.
MIDOR is now ready for drawdown to embark on the complete implementation of the Project. As an important milestone in the Government’s development of the national infrastructure, this Project places MIDOR as a major regional hub for producing and exporting petroleum products.
