An agreement to jointly develop and provide technical and legal consultancy on ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) matters was signed by WSP Consulting and the law firm Jara Del Favero (JDF). The agreement involves an integrated management of the potential impacts of companies and projects in these matters, as well as advice on reporting issues the companies are required to perform due to the regulations of the Financial Market Commission.

The incorporation of ESG factors has become essential for the current development and sustainability of companies and ensure results for better risk management, meet the demands and expectations of stakeholders and help to comply with regulations and industry standards, allowing to be always in line with the trends and demands of the markets.

Juan Ignacio Ríos, Country Manager of WSP Chile, commented: "We are very happy to be able to join forces to deliver a global service, where both companies have experience in comprehensive consulting, both in governance and in environmental, social and sustainability management. In today's world, having ESG policies is extremely important for the market's and society's valuation of companies".

At JDF, the ESG area is led by partner Christian Schiessler, who also heads the Capital Markets practice, and by Javier Naranjo, director of the Environment and Natural Resources area.

"The consideration of ESG factors in corporate decision-making will grow significantly and steadily over time, and this agreement allows us to provide a global, efficient service that meets the needs of our clients in all industries and sectors," said Christian Schiessler.

Javier Naranjo indicated that "This alliance allows us to offer advanced and strategic solutions to incorporate sustainability in the best possible way, from environmental impact assessment to the social and governance aspects of each company. In this way, we also hope to contribute to the sustainable development of Chile".

The alliance between WSP and JDF includes the development of integral services in any stage of life of the organizations, either at the project or corporate level.

One of the first activities included in this agreement is a seminar on ESG on November 30, aimed at clients of both companies, which will be attended by representatives of Global Compact, world-class experts from WSP in the United Kingdom, among other distinguished guests.
