Experts of law firm Pepeliaev Group have participated in the development of content for the Business Environment platform the establishment of which has been initiated by the Russian Ministry of Economic Development and Sberbank PJSC. The platform will accumulate services which will be useful for small and medium enterprises. The knowledge base of the platform will cover all topics of a business cycle, from formation to the liquidation of a company.

Irina Khalimonenko, lead audit expert at Pepeliaev Group, delivered a lecture on how a small enterprise may optimise its taxes. The course programme included the following topics:

  • what is a tax plan;
  • legal ways to save on taxes;
  • dangerous ways to save on taxes;
  • splitting up a business: to what extent it is legal;
  • companies eligible for reduced tax rate and individual entrepreneurs.

Vitalia Kuznetsova, an associate in the employment and migration law practice at Pepeliaev Group, gave a presentation called “Employment law issues for small enterprises”. The lawyer stressed that breaching employment law is dangerous for a businessman. The course programme included the following topics:

  • e-document management;
  • resolution of disputes with employees: topical issues;
  • termination of an employment contract;
  • CEO of a company: practical issues pertaining to the special legal status;
  • termination of an employment contract with a CEO of a company.

Oleg Golovchansky, a senior associate at Pepeliaev Group, delivered a topic called "Legal support for company’s operations: what must be done”. The course immerses a new businessman in the legal aspects of a business set up and the distribution of dividends. The course programme included the following topics:

  • company formation;
  • differences between a joint-stock company and a limited liability company;
  • a business partnership;
  • the purchase and sale of shares and participatory interests; and
  • dividends.
