Since its creation in 2011, this accolade has been awarded to VdA in recognition of its position as the most active law firm in capital markets managed by Euronext Lisbon, considering the number of bond issues (and their amounts) listed in the Euronext Lisbon index. This consistency testifies to the fact that VdA is the number one choice among entities operating in Portugal’s regulated debt market.
VdA was also recognised for its assistance in the transaction awarded the “Sustainable Finance” prize, namely, the RMBS Green Belém No. 1 issue of securitisation notes. This was the first “green” securitisation in Portugal, the revenue of which is earmarked to be reinvested by the originator (UCI) in sustainable financings, and the first with the STS (simple, transparent and standardised) label, as an initiative with a positive impact on environmental, social and governance issues.
Finally, the international conference “Sustainable Financing: Achieving the SDGs and ESG”, organised by VdA in January 2020, was nominated as a “Market Promotion” initiative.
Launched in 2011, the Euronext Lisbon Awards aim to distinguish issuers, financial intermediaries, and other institutions and individuals that have excelled in the capital markets. 2021 marks the 10th edition of these Awards, following a challenging year during which the market remained active, with innovative initiatives and projects, and that was characterised by Euronext’s determination to support and recognise this entire ecosystem while also reaffirming its continued commitment to Sustainability.
