Statewide law firm Broad and Cassel today announced Tallahassee Of Counsel Leonard Collins and Miami Of Counsel Jon A. Sale have been appointed by U.S. Senators Marco Rubio (R-FL) and Bill Nelson (D-FL) to serve on the Florida Federal Judicial Nominating Commission (JNC) for the 115th Congress.

The JNC is charged with identifying and recommending to the senators highly qualified individuals for consideration to become U.S. district judges in each of the three judicial districts in Florida.

Collins will serve as conference chair for the JNC Northern District. A member of Broad and Cassel’s Government Relations, Real Estate, and Commercial Litigation Practice Groups, Collins represents clients in Circuit and Federal Courts throughout Florida and the United States. He also serves as counsel to various political campaigns, Florida Political Committees, Federal Super PACs, trade associations and non-profit organizations.

Sale will serve as a member of the JNC Southern District. Co-Chair of Broad and Cassel’s White Collar Defense and Compliance department, Sale is a leading white collar criminal defense attorney experienced in representing corporations and individuals in grand jury investigations and in diverse and complex criminal litigation. He has extensive experience with internal investigations and Department of Justice policies and procedures. Additionally, he has represented clients in almost every substantive area of concentration, including health care fraud, securities fraud, financial institution fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations, money laundering, criminal anti-trust violations, tax fraud, mortgage fraud and various fraudulent investment schemes.
