SyCipLaw has been featured in The Legal 500 Asia Pacific Green Guide 2025. The guide highlighted SyCipLaw’s efforts to integrate sustainability in its operations and create positive social, economic, and environmental value for its clients.
Among others, SyCipLaw Partner Arlene M. Maneja was cited for her work in the low-carbon energy sector. Arlene led the team that advised MGen Renewable Energy on its PhP15.9 billion investment in SP New Energy Corp. to develop solar and battery energy storage systems projects in the Philippines.
The green guide also showcased the Firm’s work for its clients, including the Asian Development Bank and the Bank of the Philippine Islands, where the Firm assisted in the PhP11 billion sustainability-linked loan to major renewable energy platform ACEN Corporation, and the provision of corporate secretarial services and legal advice to the Philippine Eagle Conservation Program Foundation.
Through the Firm’s Sustainability and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) group, it provides its clients with insights by contributing to guides on the net zero transition, ESG reporting, transition planning, and greenwashing risk.
Under its Sustainability Policy, the Firm promotes environmental responsibility by adopting green guidelines to reduce paper, plastic, and energy usage. SyCipLaw participates in the “Trash-to-Cashback” program for the collection of recyclable trash in exchange for environmental points. The points earned by the Firm were used to purchase trash cans, three-seater benches, monobloc chairs, school supplies, lunch boxes, and water bottles, all made from recycled materials, which were donated to Raja Soliman Science and Technology High School before the opening of classes in July 2024.
