Squire Patton Boggs Refreshes US Office and Practice Leadership
Squire Patton Boggs has announced a series of leadership appointments across four US offices and one of its global practice groups. The appointments include:
- Keith Shumate as Managing Partner of the firm's Columbus office.
- Alethia Nancoo as Managing Partner of the Washington, DC office.
- Francesca Crisera Ruiz as Managing Partner of the firm's Northern California offices.
- Alex Arensberg as Deputy Managing Partner of the Denver office.
- Kendra Sherman as Practice Group Leader of the firm's global Environmental, Safety and Health Practice.

Keith Shumate, a partner in the Litigation Practice, has over 25 years of experience litigating complex matters for major corporations where he also provides business strategy advice and counseling to global organizations in the healthcare, manufacturing, retail, and financial services industries. He succeeds Traci Martinez, who has led the Columbus office since 2020 and was recently appointed Global Co-Managing Partner.
Alethia Nancoo is a partner in the Public and Infrastructure Finance Practice, former member of the Global Board, and Global Head of Transportation Infrastructure Finance. She has a preeminent airport finance practice and serves as a trusted advisor to government and private airport operators across the United States and the Caribbean. Alethia has also played a leading role in all phases of public-private partnership (P3) financing for numerous transformative airport and surface transportation projects nationwide. She succeeds Michael Curto, who has served as Managing Partner of the Washington DC office since 2015.
Francesca Crisera Ruiz leads the firm's global Technology M&A group, advising clients on strategic acquisitions and divestitures across the technology sector. She also serves on the firm's AI Subcommittee. She succeeds Mark Dosker who has led the Northern California offices since 2021.
Alex Arensberg a partner in our Environmental, Safety and Health practice, advises clients on permitting and regulatory compliance issues arising under a broad array of federal and state environmental laws. He will work alongside Denver Managing Partner and Global Co-Managing Partner Peter Gould to support the firm’s continued growth throughout the Mountain West.
Kendra Sherman brings over two decades of experience advising clients across a range of industries on complex regulatory, compliance, and environmental litigation matters. She also serves as the US National Hiring Chair where she guides talent acquisition and associate recruitment and development for all of the firm’s US offices.
These appointments follow the firm's recent leadership transitions, which saw Traci Martinez and Peter Gould appointed as Global Co-Managing Partners and Andrew Wilkinson appointed as European Managing Partner.
