On 15 February 2019, by a decision of the Partners’ meeting,  was elected a Senior Partner of Pepeliaev Group. He had previously been a Partner of the firm for ten years.

Sergey has been leading and developing Pepeliaev Group’s St Petersburg Office since 2005; during his leadership, not only has the client pool of the Petersburg Office expanded but the Office’s revenue has climbed more than fivefold. The office has implemented over 200 major integrated projects for leading foreign and Russian investors developing business in the North-Western Region.

Sergey has over 20 years of experience in the legal profession. He specialises in corporate law, construction and development and is an expert in matters concerning the regulation of relationships between clients and state authorities.

For over ten years, Chambers Europe, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers, the leading international directories of law firms, have been praising Sergey as one of Russia's top lawyers in corporate law / M&A and dispute resolution. Kommersant Publishing House also includes him in its yearly ranking of St Petersburg’s most successful businessmen.

Sergey is actively involved in the activities of the business community in the North-Western Region. For instance, he is a permanent member of the Expert Board at the Strategic Initiatives Agency and develops procedures aimed at improving the investment climate and implementing new opportunities for the economy to grow. In 2016, Sergey was appointed deputy head of a specialised chair at the law department of the National Research University ‘Higher School of Economics’, one of Russia’s largest universities.
